Q: When and where is the Southend 10K?

A: 2nd October 2016 at Southchurch Park East, Lifstan Way, Southend on Sea

Essex, SS1 2XD.

Q: What time does the 10K race start?

A: 10.00am

Q: What time does the children’s 3K race start?

A: 10.05am

Q: Is there any car parking?

A: Yes, there is some parking at Southchurch Park East, but please car share or use

public transport, where possible.

Q: Where is the nearest railway station?

A: Southend East, which is about a 15 minute walk from the race HQ.

Q: When and from where do I collect my race number and timing chip?

A: From 8.00am until 9.30am from race HQ at Southchurch Park East.

Q: What is the minimum age for running the 10K race?

A: 15 years of age (on race day).

Q: What is the minimum and maximum ages for running the children’s 3K race?

A: 11 to 14 years of age (on race day).

Q: Is there a baggage store?

A: Yes, there will be a secure baggage store. Each runner will be provided with a

label, on which to write your race number and then attach to your bag, before

handing in to the baggage store.

Q: Can I run with my dog?

A: No, for safety reasons, no animals are allowed on the course.

Q: Can I wear roller skates or be accompanied by someone on a bike?

A: No, for safety reasons, no wheels are allowed on the course.

Q: Are there any toilets on the course?

A: Yes, but only on the 10K course, where there are public toilets near to the 3K and

6K points.

Q: If I’m unable to run, can I pass my number to another person?

A: No, numbers are not transferable.

Q: Can I wear music player, such as an iPod or MP3 player?

A: No, for safety reasons, all personal music players are not allowed.

Q: Are there medals for finishes?

A: Yes, all finishers will receive a quality medal.

Q: Can I raise money for my own charity?

A: Yes, although Havens Hospices is the nominated charity of the Southend 10K and

we would encourage you to support that cause. You are however free to raise

money for an alternative charity of your choice.
